SNYCO and SCO join forces in their much-anticipated annual combined concert under the baton of SNYCO Music Director & SCO Principal Conductor Quek Ling Kiong as a gift of music to our nation’s 60th birthday! The professional musicians will perform alongside their talented mentees in this concert, featuring 2 world premieres by Singaporean composer Germaine Goh, who has gained acclaim for her unique, eclectic style and award-winning composer Chow Jun Yi. The “Legacy” of the 3 traditional Chinese classical works lives on through the imparting of skills from one generation to another. Both orchestras will also perform contemporary pieces by local composers that incorporate local influences based on inspirations drawn from Singapore heritage. Enjoy an evening of exhilarating artistry as some of Singapore’s finest musicians and promising young prodigies take the stage together once again!
