Singaporean conductor Lien Boon Hua is acclaimed as one of Asia's leading interpreters of contemporary music, celebrated for his stylistic versatility and emotional depth. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was invited to lead the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in a landmark concert celebrating the Esplanade’s 20th anniversary. As the founder and Artistic Director of Wayfarer Sinfonietta since 2021, Lien has established the ensemble into a dynamic force in Singapore known for its artistic excellence and bold programming.
This event welcome youths between 10 - 26 years old who plays a Chinese orchestra instrument, and would like to tour the training spaces and observe a SNYCO rehearsal, along with SNYCO Music Director Mr Quek Ling Kiong, and Conductor Dr Lien Boon Hua.

Known for his charisma and powerful stage presence, award-winning maestro Quek Ling Kiong has been leading the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) as its Music Director since 2016, and conducting it for more than two decades. Well-versed in the music traditions of East and West, Quek has conducted orchestras around the world. Witness the youths of today take on the Tunes of Tomorrow! Following the Musical Voyage journey in March, join Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) this July as they make their final stop for this membership year with a high-energy repertoire! Led by SNYCO Music Director Quek Ling Kiong, catch the world premiere of Lingering Resonances of the Street Opera Gongs by local young composer Jon Lin Chua, and the Singapore premiere of Sounds of Virtue by Li Bochan.
