Singaporean conductor Lien Boon Hua is acclaimed as one of Asia's leading interpreters of contemporary music, celebrated for his stylistic versatility and emotional depth. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was invited to lead the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in a landmark concert celebrating the Esplanade’s 20th anniversary. As the founder and Artistic Director of Wayfarer Sinfonietta since 2021, Lien has established the ensemble into a dynamic force in Singapore known for its artistic excellence and bold programming.

SNYCO embarks on the highly anticipated overseas concert tour to China during 29 November to 6 December 2019. The first stop will be at Shanghai for the 15th Yangtze River Delta National Orchestra Performance Shanghai Students Arts Group Youth Chinese Orchestra and SNYCO Exchange Concert. Featuring conductor Xie Yuan and renowned erhu soloist Duan Aiai, it is a maiden collaboration not to be missed.

Following 2018’s combined concert with Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra, SNYCO is set to perform We Soar II in China in 2019. Expect contemporary Chinese orchestra classics such as Ode to the Sun by Wang Danhong, Suite of Chinese String Instruments by Tan Dun; Nanyang works such as Singapura Overture by Zhang Xiao Feng; and a newly commissioned work, The City of Tomorrow, for mobile phones and orchestra by Chow Jun Yi.
