This event welcome youths between 10 - 26 years old who plays a Chinese orchestra instrument, and would like to tour the training spaces and observe a SNYCO rehearsal, along with SNYCO Music Director Mr Quek Ling Kiong, and Conductor Dr Lien Boon Hua.

Known for his charisma and powerful stage presence, award-winning maestro Quek Ling Kiong has been leading the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) as its Music Director since 2016, and conducting it for more than two decades. Well-versed in the music traditions of East and West, Quek has conducted orchestras around the world. He is the Principal Conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO), and has guest-conducted esteemed Chinese orchestras such as the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, Guangdong Chinese Orchestra, Taipei Chinese Orchestra, Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra...

The SNYCO and SCO combined concert is an annual concert that both orchestras look forward to each year. SNYCO erhu I associate principal, Li Yichen will perform the erhu concerto The Sun Shines on Tashkurghan with SCO, while zhongruan concerto The River Runs Red will be performed by SNYCO member, Chong Shao Yih.
