Youth Rhapsody III

Youth Rhapsody III

A New Membership Year, A New Musical Journey

The Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) marks the start of its new membership year with its first concert Youth Rhapsody III, performing under the baton of Guest Conductor Chen Bing, Professor of Conducting at the Central Conservatory of Music.

The spotlight will also shine on two SNYCO musicians:

SNYCO Suona Principal Liu Yu Xin takes centre stage as soloist in Zhang Xiaofeng’s suona concerto Liangshan Capriccio, bringing the distinctive and expressive voice of the suona to life.

SNYCO member Chin Yi Xian will also perform as soloist in Legend of Paiwan (Movements II & III), a sheng concerto by renowned composer Qu Chunquan.

From the soaring sounds of the suona and sheng to the vibrant colours of the full Chinese orchestra, join SNYCO for an evening of music, learning and discovery as a new generation of musicians takes the stage. A concert not to be missed!
